Why Thai astrology?
Thai astrology is very simple for laymen because the readings are done at more than one level. At the first few levels, the readings are broad-brushed hence quite easy to use. You can apply them right away.
Thai astrology is based on Hindu Sidereal system. The lines dividing the Houses are fixed and are the same as the lines dividing the zodiac signs. Planet positions do not follow astronomy but are calculated from the formula of the ancient Hindu Surya Siddhanta almanac. The dates of the sun changing zodiac signs therefore do not follow the seasons. The readings are not based on the actual angles between planets but instead on the relationship between the Houses. Planet diary is available on the website so readers can use them to predict their future.
However, Thai astrology is different from Indian in three ways. First, it uses round charts like Western astrology which is easier to understand than the Indian squares. Planets are represented by simple numbers so readers do not have to memorize zodiac symbols. Second, in Indian astrology, Rahu (8) is the ascending node of the Moon (2)'s orbit intersecting the celestial equator, and Ketu (9) is descending node. Thai astrology calculates the movement of Ketu (9) separately, making it more refined. Third, it uses the technique of Taksa (details in the book) which is unique to Thai astrology.
